Robert’s back – and even bigger and badder than before!
Twelve years is an extremely long time to be plotting revenge – so when Robert Robinson explodes back on to our screens this week, you can be certain that he has something truly awful in mind for the object of his fury: his dad Paul!
Robert’s currently serving a jail sentence in a high-security prison for the murder of three people, and the attempted murder of many others. However, when his daughter Harlow visits him to find out whether he would consider donating a kidney to his ailing half-brother David, she sets off a terrible chain of events that nobody could possibly foresee…
“Robert’s back – and he’s even bigger and badder than before!” exclaims star Adam Hunter, who first played the role of Paul’s twisted son back in 2006. “I was really fascinated to see what kind of storyline the writers would come up with for Robert this time around. I really love playing him – there are lots of complexities with the character, so I’m happy to be back!”
Although Robert is aware of Harlow’s existence – the pair have been writing letters to each other for quite some time – they’ve never met in person. So when Robert finally sees his daughter in the f lesh, might she be able to melt his cold, black heart?
“It’s an epic experience for Robert,” confirms Adam. “He looks into Harlow’s eyes and sees part of him in this young girl, and it softens him very quickly – she’s come at a good time. But he is still who he is, and I think he sees her request as an opportunity.”
