Jade’s next move could wreck her life forever…
There’s more heartache ahead for Fiz and Tyrone, as wicked Jade cooks up a new plan to destroy their family.
Viewers now know that Jade Rowan is the secret daughter of Fiz’s dead serial killer husband John Stape, and she’s determined to get her hands on her little sister, Hope. After months of secrecy about Jade’s true identity, star Lottie Henshall – who plays her – is delighted that the truth is out, and she teases that things are going to get much worse for the Dobbs-stape family…
“The main goal for Jade is to be with Hope and to look after her,” she reveals. “Jade’s been fed lies her entire life and she’s been brainwashed into thinking Fiz is this evil person. She genuinely believes that Fiz is bad for Hope, and she’ll do anything in her power to keep her little sister safe.”
We’ve seen Jade successfully manipulate Hope and the rest of the family, creating deep divisions and mayhem. But whispers suggest that she’s capable of much more, particularly as she’s hell-bent on removing Fiz from Hope’s life completely. What does that mean for the rest of the family, including little Hope?
“It’s going to be a while before the residents of the Street discover her true identity,” shares Lottie. “Viewers are going to know much more than the characters – there are many layers to Jade, and I can’t wait for people to see that. We’ve seen her completely lose it recently [when Hope returned to school and social services concluded their investigations]. The viewers may even wonder if she is going to kill someone, because Jade gets so angry. It’s a question of what she’s capable of. She’s John’s daughter, so is she also capable of murder?”
She certainly has killer genes, although Lottie insists that Jade isn’t entirely bad. In fact, she says that Coronation Street viewers will be conflicted about her.
“Everything she’s done is wrong, but the reason is her love for
Hope,” she tells us. “Our intention is to leave viewers confused and keep them asking questions.”
