Serial killer Robert Robinson is on the loose…

- Sarah Ellis

There’ll be no peace and goodwill for the residents of Ramsay Street this Christmas, as Paul’s psycho son Robert escapes police custody – and goes on the rampage!

After agreeing to donate his kidney to his dying half-brother David, Robert is moved to Erinsborough Hospital for the risky operation – where the crim manages to give his security contingent the slip! But rather than getting as far away from the cops as possible, Robert heads straight to his old home on Ramsay Street, where he takes pregnant Elly hostage.

Neighbours star Stefan Dennis – who plays Paul – tells us what we can expect in this year’s dramatic Christmas Day episode…

Hello, Stefan! How did you feel about revisiting the story between Paul and his killer son, Robert?

Oh, I was very excited – they have a hate-hate relationship, so as actors, Adam [Hunter, aka Robert] and I both went, “You beauty!” This is what you want to be playing – drama, intrigue and terror. The writers have managed to get some incredible twists into this story, and the audience will be on the edge of their seats – it really goes down to the wire whether David will make it or not…

Can you tell us about the deal Paul strikes with Robert for him to be a kidney donor?

Robert wants to be moved to a lowersecurity prison. In the grand scheme of things, that’s not an outrageous demand – he’s not asking to be freed from prison. He just wants to be moved away from maximum security. Although you have a psycho killer versus a businessman who’s renowned for going back on his word – so I’ll let you make up your own mind about what happens when they strike a deal!

We know that Robert escapes from the hospital – can you tease what happens next?

It really goes down to the wire if David will make it or not…”

There are some big twists in there, as this is a proper psycho we’re dealing with! Robert has the smallest taste of freedom – so why does he go to Ramsay Street, the one place that the police are watching? He does what he does in broad daylight, he’s quite blatant. And as he takes Elly hostage there’s a lot at stake, because she’s very pregnant…

How would Paul feel if Elly or her baby ended up coming to harm because of Robert?

He would hate Robert all the more. And he’d be the first person to turn around and say, “I told you so!” However, it could be that Paul himself is in the most danger – Robert’s had an agenda for the past 12 years, and that’s to kill Paul! Robert has nothing but evil on his mind at this point – and his actions will affect everyone on Ramsay Street…
