LAURA NORTON Kerry

-

After breaking up with Dan, playing a role in the terrible factory fire, and a humiliating one-night stand with Cain, Kerry’s not had a ‘mint’ year! However, 36-year-old Laura reveals that there is “hope on the horizon” for her alter ego – while she herself is planning a low-key Christmas with her partner and his children…

So, is it really true that you couldn’t sleep last night, as you were so excited about this shoot?

Oh, yes! I’m particularly enjoying today, because it’s very natural and I feel that I look like myself. Kerry is so extroverted, plastered in make-up and wears really bright clothes – mutton dressed as lamb! Sometimes people think that her look is what I might want for myself as well. Also, she is 10 years older than me!

So, what is Christmas going to be like for Kerry this year?

Well, I think she’s going to spend the Christmas period and New Year ref lecting, and she’s going to have to try to work out how she moves on. And for next year, I think she needs to stop drinking to be honest, because that’s when she makes all her bad decisions. I’m very excited about what’s coming up – but I can’t tell you why!

And what are you up to over the Christmas break?

It’s going to be very chilled, because

I’ve had a really busy year. My partner [former Emmerdale cast mate Mark Jordon, aka Daz Spencer] has a son and daughter, and he’s an amazing cook – he’ll cook us a big Christmas dinner. We’ll watch some films and go for a nice walk. I just want something really low-key.

What Christmas film are you most likely to be watching?

It’s A Wonderful Life – I watch it every year without fail, and I’ve seen it so many times! I think everyone should watch it. It’ll make you cry and you have to persevere with it. You’ll think, ‘Why am I watching this?’, but then you realise, it really is a wonderful life!

Where would you like to go for your dream Christmas?

I’d go to New York. I’ve been a few times, but I’ve never been over the Christmas period. I have seen them start to decorate, and it’s so beautiful and romantic – it just creates that magic. There are ice rinks everywhere and jazz bands. I would love to be there!
