Mick is desperate to help Linda
AFTER TEACHERS CALL SOCIAL SERVICES OVER OLLIE, MICK TAKES DRASTIC ACTION…
Mick realises just how much Linda’s drinking is having an effect on their son, Ollie, this week. And following his wife’s outburst during a meeting at the lad’s school, he takes bold action!
Things go awry when the alcoholic forgets Mick’s birthday, and ends up drinking while in charge of Ollie. Mick’s already alarmed by Linda’s behaviour, but when she leaves their son alone to seek out booze, he reaches the end of his tether. Yet worse is to come as the school alerts social services over Ollie’s distress, who soon want answers from his shamed parents…
“Mick has been hoping Linda would turn things around, but he’s sadly deluded,” warns our Square insider. “She’s helpless in the face of temptation, plus when things go wrong, she hits the bottle. Linda needs professional help, although she has to be willing to accept it.”
So far, Linda has been in denial about her problem.
She’s been trying to make things up to Mick, yet by forgetting his birthday, Linda has set them right back. She tries to cover by staging a surprise party, and not drinking at the bash. But while Mick is proud she’s on the wagon, Linda can’t cope with her cravings and abandons him to get drunk.
The next day, the full extent of Linda’s drinking becomes more apparent when Shirley finds her secret stash of booze. Worried, she tries to get through to Mick that Linda needs more than just his help. But the matter only truly hits home when the school calls to say Ollie’s behaviour has led

them to contact social services with concerns about his home life. Needless to say, in her current state of mind, Linda reacts badly at a school meeting on the matter. Mick, meanwhile, is finally pushed to his limit.
“Mick doesn’t want Linda to look after Ollie,” explains our spy. “He asks Chantelle to care for the lad while he deals with his wife. Mick is willing to do whatever he can to stop Linda from destroying herself. But she won’t thank him for the drastic action he’s set to take…”
