Graham is murdered! But who is responsible for his death? We examine the potential killers…

A WEEK OF BIG DRAMA AS THE SUSPECTS LINE UP – BEFORE ONE STRIKES THE FATAL BLOW!

- Laura-jayne Tyler

“He’s always had it in for me, and I don’t care. But my family? That’s different. First Debbie, then Noah and now Ryan… He hurt my children. Now watch me hurt him.”

“He once stood by me when everyone else walked away… But now he’s betrayed me, and there’s no coming back from that. That can never be forgiven.” “Graham couldn’t leave any other way!” ANDREW

Someone turns killer this week in

Emmerdale, as Graham Foster is savagely murdered. He’s been gathering enemies at quite a rate over the past few months, but this week, he finally pushes someone too far…

“It’s only fitting that Graham goes out with a bang!” teases Emmerdale’s series producer Laura Shaw. “There are not many characters you can play a big ‘whodunnit?’ story with, so we felt we needed to take advantage of that. Graham has built up a lot of enemies!” Over the course of this week, we’ll see Graham’s last day from the perspective of each character who has a motive to want him dead. Episode by episode, each suspect’s version of events will play out in turn, culminating in an explosive episode on Friday where the identity of the killer will finally be revealed to shocked viewers.

“It’s always exciting when we step out of our usual storytelling style, and this is one of the most exciting weeks I’ve ever worked on,” enthuses Laura. “By the end of the week, the audience will find out who the murderer is – and it’s safe to say that it’ll have repercussions for the whole village throughout 2020…” Meanwhile, the drama-packed week marks the end of the line for actor Andrew Scarborough, who’s played Graham since 2017.

“I’m going to miss Graham a lot,” he says. “But I think with Graham’s career in organised violence, he couldn’t have left

in any other way. I’ll miss those suits and he will certainly be buried in one. He always did look like an undertaker!”

But who will put Graham six feet under? Here, the stars talk us through the events of this final fateful day…

THE KIDNAPPING IN THE KAYAK HUT

The launch of Hawkford Outdoor Pursuits Centre finally arrives this week, although Charity and Vanessa look set to upstage the grand unveiling with a special event of their own. But Graham throws a spanner in the works by taking Charity’s son Ryan prisoner!

“As much as Charity is a useless mother at times, she would kill for her own,” insists actress Emma Atkins, who plays her. “On the day of Graham’s murder, Charity and Vanessa are secretly planning to get married. But then Ryan suddenly goes missing, and Charity finds him locked in one of the kayak huts at the Outdoor Pursuits Centre.

“It unravels that Ryan has been working with Graham to syphon off money from Kim’s bank account,” adds the star. “The plot thickens, and Graham holds Ryan hostage, which leaves Charity consumed with even more hate…”

After she tracks down Graham and he fails to show the faintest sign of remorse, choosing to instead twist the knife and belittle Charity, she swears to Ryan that they are going to make Graham pay for his actions…

VENGEANCE OF THE SPURNED LOVER

Meanwhile, hell hath no fury like a Kim Tate scorned! As Graham dupes his spurned ex into thinking they still have a chance – only to take pleasure in revealing that he was playing her for a fool – Kim sees red.

“I’ll play Kim’s games and do her bidding, but I’ll come out on top – because I always do. Graham needs taking down. And I’m the one to do it.”

“Kim has come to the realisation that she has deeper feelings for Graham than she thought,” explains her real-life alter ego, Claire King, as she takes up the story. “The trouble is, Graham knows exactly how Kim works – probably more than anybody else in the world. Because he understands how she operates, Graham is going to try to dig his heels in to get back at Kim, and they are each going to try to outmanoeuvre one another. Put it this way, it’s not going to end happily between them!”

Coupled with Kim later discovering that Graham has been robbing her blind, making unauthorised withdrawals from her bank account, it doesn’t take long for Emmerdale’s chief superbitch to deduce that Graham’s out-lived his time in the village.

After conspiring with her lover, Al, will he agree to do Kim’s murderous bidding and be the one to bump off her ex? Or will Ms Tate herself deliver the killer blow?

THE BITTERNESS OF THE DRUG ADDICT

For Jai, Graham is responsible for turning his loved ones against him.

Unable to cope with the demands of Hawkford, the struggling drug addict turns to cocaine again to help him make a success of the launch. However, when Jai’s car later collides with Graham’s, his drugged-up state is exposed – and Graham gleefully grasses on Jai to his heartbroken girlfriend, Laurel…

“Why did he have to tell Laurel what I’ve done? I’d finally found my happiness and he’s destroyed it. He has left me with nothing, and he needs to pay.” “Graham knows how Kim works!” CLAIRE

“Laurel understands the whole sobriety issue, as she’s a recovering alcoholic,” points out actor Chris Bisson, who plays Jai. “So, in terms of the truth coming out, he hopes that she will understand. However, there is always that little bit of doubt that Laurel won’t stand by him.”

Jai previously promised Laurel that his recent Class A takeaway pizza was a one-off, so she is utterly devastated when Graham reveals that Jai is back on drugs. To make matters worse, Rishi later intercepts yet another delivery of narcotics for his son – leaving Jai’s relationships with both his family and Laurel in tatters. As Jai concludes that Graham is to blame for ruining his life, how far will he go to

make him pay?

THE REVENGE OF THE KILLER CHEF

Marlon has made no secret of his feelings towards Graham and his plans to move to France with Rhona and young Leo. However, Marlon doesn’t realise that he’s about to lose his son imminently! As Rhona makes a point of arranging for Leo to spend time with his daddy, she does so knowing full well that the pair of them are planning to leave with Graham the next day. However, when Rhona sits down with Marlon for a heart-to-heart, he misreads the situation and kisses her!

“Does he really think I’m just going to let him take my son? I’ll see him dead before he does that! My kids are my life, and I’ll do whatever it takes to protect them.”

“They are at the end of their tether with each other, and then there is a weird moment when Marlon remembers what Rhona means to him,” explains his real-life alter ego, Mark Charnock. “It’s not a romantic lean-in for a kiss, and more a moment of confusion. They are hugging each other, all the threads of Marlon’s life are untangling, and he just looks for a moment of comfort, and Rhona rejects him. He’s embarrassed and apologetic

– it throws spice into the mix!”

Realising that she can’t keep the truth of her departure from Marlon a moment longer, Rhona confesses that she and Leo are departing for France. Furious, Marlon storms off vowing to stop Graham from taking his son away – at whatever cost…

A DOUBLE-CROSSING DEAL WITH THE DEVIL

Last, but by no means least, warring couple Andrea and Jamie are once again sent spinning when Andrea’s history with sly Graham comes back to haunt them.

After Andrea learns that her husband has hired a private detective to track her every move, she ends up doing a deal with the devil – and approaches Graham for help. However, the decision backfires on her spectacularly when Jamie spots the pair together, and Graham puts

“He sees me as the weak posh boy who can’t stand up for himself. But sometimes a person can be pushed too far. The tables have turned, I’m in control now.”

him in the picture about their secret dealings.

“For Andrea, this is about Graham saying, ‘I’m going to take away every person that means something to you’,” explains actress Anna Nightingale, who plays her. “She hates the notion of being alone and, every time Andrea thinks that she’s regaining a certain level of control, Graham keeps coming at her.”

“Jamie’s relationship with Kim has always been about lying and manipulation, and it’s since come out that the same applies to Graham and Jamie’s wife, too,” adds Alex Lincoln, who plays Jamie. “While there are other parties to blame, Jamie definitely feels Graham is the trigger of it all.”

So, will it be Jamie or Andrea who does for Graham? Or will it turn out that another enemy is waiting in the wings with murder in mind?

“Andrea hates the notion of being alone!” ANNA “He thinks he can break me, but he doesn’t know my strength. I can play just as dirty as he can. He tried to take my daughter. He won’t take my husband.”
