Nancy is stabbed in the playground
THERE’S VIOLENCE AT THE SCHOOL – AND THE TEACHER GETS CAUGHT IN THE CROSSFIRE…
Hollyoaks High teacher Nancy Osborne is rushed to hospital this week, after she’s injured during a brutal knife attack in the playground!
Pregnant Nancy should be avoiding dangerous situations at all costs – however, when she sees violence erupting between two of her students, she feels duty bound to step in to stop the warring pair from harming each other.
“Nancy sees a fight breaking out in the schoolyard between Sid and another kid,” explains Jessica Fox, who plays the injured teacher. “She charges in all guns blazing, and gets right in the middle of it with no thought for her safety – then she gets stabbed in the leg!”
Prior to the shocking incident, Nancy’s forced to reveal to her loved ones that she and Kyle are expecting a baby, after an embarrassing incident at the Hutch…
“Nancy decides that the restaurant needs a deep clean,” Jess tells us. “They’re all wearing hazmat suits, which wasn’t very flattering for us at all! While they’re cleaning, Nancy decides to creep up behind Kyle to give him a romantic surprise – only to discover it’s Darren! That’s when it comes out that
Nancy is pregnant.”
Once everyone establishes that the baby is Kyle’s, not Darren’s, they’re happy for the parents-to-be. But the joyful expressions don’t last long after poor Nancy is violently attacked at the school.
“It’s a massive shock, and Nancy is thrown to the ground,” reveals Jess. “John Paul goes into first-aid mode, and won’t let Nancy move.
An ambulance is called to take her to the hospital, although Nancy’s not too badly injured.”
We know from the recent flash-forward episode that Nancy will survive the attack – however, her most pressing thought will be for the safety of her unborn baby. And Jess informs us that this incident is also set to take a huge toll on Nancy’s mental state.
“She becomes quite fearful,” says Jess. “She’s suspicious of all the children around her. Nancy’s going to become quite paranoid that something at the school is not quite right, that they need to be vigilant, and that firmer measures need
to be taken.”

While Nancy’s life may not be in immediate danger, Jess tells us that following the New Year’s Eve episode, Hollyoaks viewers have become very concerned about her alter ego’s future.
“People went nuts for that episode – everyone wants to know who’s in that body bag!” she exclaims. “People were contacting me on Twitter, saying, ‘I think it’s Nancy, because John Paul’s crying!’ But even I don’t know who it is – it really could be anyone!”
