Lucy’s tearful GOODBYE!

She’s already bid farewell to Coronation Street...

While Bethany’s story isn’t over yet, Lucy has now completed filming on Corrie, and she has officially left the show.

She celebrated her departure with a fun night out with her cobbles costars – including Jack P Shepherd (David), Colson Smith (Craig) and Tina O’brien (Sarah) – a few days before her final scene was filmed. And on the big day itself,

Lucy was joined by her real-life family, who helped her say goodbye to Weatherfield during an emotional visit.

“I’m writing this with mascara all over my face and tears down my clothes,” she said in an Instagram post. “But that’s a wrap on what has been the most incredible five years of my life.”

Lucy recalled that when she landed her role in 2014, she had just finished sixth form at school, and had “no idea what direction life was going to take me in”…

“I never expected that I’d be calling Gail Platt a friend – but here we are,” she added to her social media post.

“It’s such a cliché, but the Platt family really is a second family to me. And I will forever be in debt to them. They have taught me everything I know – who needs a degree and drama school when you have the Platts?”

Lucy thanked the rest of the Corrie cast and crew, as well as the viewers for their “endless amount of support” over the years.

Speculation is rife about what Lucy might do next. Having wowed fans with her singing during celebrity singing contest All-star Musicals, there are rumours she could be heading for the West End.

However, multi-talented Lucy is keeping tightlipped, and hasn’t ruled out a cobbles return in the future. The actress concluded her Instagram post with: “What fun we’ve had. It’s not goodbye, just see ya later…”
