RUSTLERS ON THE FARM LEAD TO A DEADLY SITUATION...
Moira makes a dramatic return in the nick of time this week, while Matty is trapped in a dangerous showdown with rustlers! Matty and his pal Amy have nowhere to turn as they find themselves surrounded by the animal thieves – until Moira’s sudden appearance with her shotgun. But as she holds the ruthless rustlers in her sights, is Moira’s drastic action set to save the day – or cause even more problems for her nearest and dearest?
“Just when Matty and Amy think they’re in serious trouble, mum turns up with her gun – it’s a true Moira moment!” explains Ash
Palmisciano, who plays Matty. “Amy and Matty have run into the rustlers head on, and while Amy is pretty scared, Matty tries to confront these men – he can’t believe the cheek of them! But although he does his best to see them off, it turns out that he’s completely powerless…”
Moira’s reappearance could prove to be perfect timing in more ways than one, with Matty struggling to cope since his mum went off to stay with Nana Barton in a bid to clear her head and bring her out-of-control drinking to an end. While Matty was heartened by Moira’s efforts to get her life back on track, however, the strain of her absence has taken its toll…
“Supporting Moira has been tough on Matty – he’s had to step up and be the more stable one,” shares Ash. “When it comes down to it, Matty will do anything to help his mum, even work on the farm. Matty’s no farmer and he’s taken on more than he can handle, but he’s Moira’s son and he won’t give up.
“He desperately wants his mum back to her former self, but while Matty is pretty tough and has been through a lot himself, he certainly needs Moira’s support.”
While Cain is currently in the process of divorcing Moira, it’s Matty’s stepfather who’s first to suspect that Matty might be out of his depth, particularly after he hears word that rustlers are operating in the area.
But when he asks Sam to help Matty out, Matty’s having none of it…

“Matty’s promised his mum he’ll take care of things, without the help of any Dingles,” explains Ash. “So he’s trying to solve the problem alone. He’s quite stubborn like that! He partly blames Cain for hurting his mum – although he’s well aware that Moira is her own worst enemy – and he doesn’t trust him too much.”
Instead, Matty makes the somewhat misguided decision to rope in Vinny – but he’s not around when Matty and Amy realise a large number of sheep have escaped. And it’s while they’re assessing the situation that they find themselves in danger…
“Matty’s not a natural farmer – and it turns out that Vinny is even worse!” admits Ash. “When Matty realises the sheep are missing, he’s absolutely gutted that he’s let his mum down. He tries so hard to keep it together, but is still too proud to let Cain get involved. So it’s Amy who’s keeping him company as they take a stroll through the farm to investigate – and bump into the rustlers.”
The frightened pair attempt to make a run for it, but don’t get far. However, it’s just as they’re expecting the worst that Moira rocks up – and she’s taking no prisoners as she aims her loaded gun at the gang…
“There’s no way Moira is going to let her farm go to pieces – she’s put too much of her life into the place,” insists Ash. “Plus no one in their right mind would mess with Moira and a shotgun! So Matty is hugely relieved to see his mum at first. But he’s also still hurting about the way she’s been these past few weeks. So is she back and ready to take control and solve this mess?”
Meanwhile, with Moira on the warpath, how far will she go in order to protect her property?
