Gemma & Ches face a huge shock
SAD NEWS ABOUT BABY ALED AFTER A FIASCO WITH FRESHCO…
There’s heartbreak for Gemma and Ches this week, when they discover that their son Aled is profoundly deaf.
The news comes after the stressed-out parents battle with
Freshco over a scheduling clash. The couple have been worried about Aled ever since medics voiced concerns regarding his hearing, and asked them to bring in their son for tests. So, when marketing exec Tara informs them they are contractually obliged to attend another photo shoot on the day of the test, there’s panic. Ches assumes that Freshco would understand the baby’s health must come first, but he’s wrong – as Tara shows her true colours…
“It becomes clear the quads are just a commodity to Tara and Freshco,” sighs our Street spy. “She doesn’t care that the baby needs the test, and tells mum and dad Gemma and Ches that they’ll be at the shoot or lose their pay. It’s a cruel way to behave and leaves the parents shocked. This dream deal is turning into a nightmare.”
Ches vows to ignore Tara and keep Aled’s appointment – however, when the newborn can’t sleep, doctors reschedule it, and the couple decide to take the babies to the shoot after all.
With the entire Freshco marketing team also at the shoot for a presentation, the pressure is on, so when Aled starts to cry during the session, worried Gemma can’t control her emotions and breaks down. Pushed to breaking point, Ches grabs

“Ches is livid – he might be a quiet one, but when he goes, he really goes!” gasps our mole. “He lays bare the reality of their lives and calls the campaign a sham. Tara bites back by terminating their contract with immediate effect! The couple tell her to stuff it – but the end of the contract leaves the struggling pair with a big cashflow problem.”
Yet their finances pale into insignificance compared with the next blow they face…
The pair arrive at their doctor’s for the results of Aled’s test, to be given the news that their son has profound and permanent hearing loss in both ears…
DEVASTATING DIAGNOSIS
