ZENIN IS ARMED – AND READY TO KILL…
Ned finds himself in deadly danger this week, when gangster Zenin takes him hostage – and threatens him at gunpoint!
As our dramatic pictures show, a tense stand-off between the shady drug dealer and the police ends in terror. So after the thug desperately fights to evade the law, how far will he go to ensure he escapes prison?
“It’s a really juicy week, full of action!” teases actor Axle Whitehead, who plays crim Zenin. “My character is very dangerous, and he’s someone who takes pleasure in threatening people. He enjoys the hunt, the game of cat-andmouse, and he’ll stop at nothing. Human life is cheap to him.”
Zenin has been making Ned’s life hell for weeks now, threatening both him and Yashvi as he battles to keep his illegal activities hidden from the authorities. However, his behaviour has pushed Ned to the brink, leaving him with no choice but to get the police involved – yet as he waits for officers to swoop, the operation goes horribly awry… “Zenin’s a truly bad guy,” reveals Axle. “He’s sure he’s not getting the honest truth from Ned and Yashvi, so he’s putting the pressure on them to give him an answer.
But then the police come snooping around!
“These scenes are high-stakes, and I had a blast filming them,” he adds. “Anything involving guns and lots of action is an absolute joy to play out. The adrenaline’s pumping, and that just makes it easier for you as an actor. Playing a bad boy is my favourite!”
Axle’s not giving away too much about Zenin’s fate, insisting that viewers will have to tune in to watch the storyline unfold on screen. We know that his stint in Neighbours is just a guest role for now, though – so would the star like to return at some point?
“If the writers find a way to bring back Zenin, then I’d be more than happy to play him again,” grins Axle. “So if the viewers want to see more of him, they’ll have to make a pretty good song and dance about it!”
