Eastenders star Letitia Dean appeared on the cover of the first-ever issue of Inside Soap, back in October 1992 – and is still gracing the front page now! We’ve had many chats with Tish over the years, and had great fun revisiting this one with the then 25-yearold from April 1993…

TISH ON… her future at Eastenders “A lot of people think that after all this time I would be bored with it, but I’m not really. There are so many changes, certainly with my character. The longer you do it, the more you find out about yourself and the programme. I’m happy staying put for the moment.”

TISH ON… keeping in touch with her former co-stars

“Anita [Dobson, aka Sharon’s mum Angie] and I wrote to each other a few weeks ago, and Gilly Taylforth [Kathy] sees her quite often. She’s doing well and seems really happy – she’s done

such interesting work since she left.”

TISH ON… leaving her party lifestyle behind her

“We used to do a lot of socialising when we were 18 or 19. We went to all the clubs because it was so new and exciting. But it’s not new any more. I’m 25, going on 44! I’m in a period of my life when I’ve got no desire to go out dancing.”

TISH ON… getting older

“I’m nearly 30 now, and they say it’s wonderful for women in their thirties. So I’m looking forward to that. I’d like to be at one with myself – not in an arrogant way, but confident with the way I am. I think that’s a great help in your career if you can have inner contentment. And as long as I’m getting job satisfaction, I’m still here. I want to carry on.”
