Gemma makes a new friend

CAN HER YOGA PAL HELP HER COPE?

- Laura-jayne Tyler

Devastated Gemma causes concern this week, as her dismay over baby Aled’s hearing problems drives her to the edge. But when the stressed mum attends a baby yoga class with the quads, a fellow yogi gives her a confidence boost – might things be looking up?

As the week begins, Gemma is at the point of exhaustion trying to care for her babies – particularly little Aled – and Chesney is worried that she’s heading for a total breakdown.

“Gemma is adamant that Aled needs to see her face every time he wakes up, so she’s refusing to sleep,” says our cobbles source. “She’s stressed and run ragged – and now she has sleep deprivation thrown into the mix too. Ches is worried that Gemma will make herself very ill.”

The audiologist has recommended that Aled has a cochlear implant procedure, giving Gemma and Ches a lot to think about. While Gemma frets, Ches looks for practical solutions, and the kindly dad makes a mobile to hang over the little boy’s cot with pictures of Gemma’s face dangling from it, so Aled can always see her. Ches also demonstrates some sign language, making Gemma feel brighter.

“Gemma is invited to baby yoga too,” says our spy. “Meeting other mums and spending time in fun classes really helps her to relax. Her teacher Vanessa even offers to get another friend, Imogen, to help Gemma with the quads. It really looks as if Gemma has something good to focus on.”

Is this a sign that Gemma is coping with their situation?
