The Barlow family home turns into a battlefield this week, as Tracy and Peter make rival bids to buy the property from their dad, Ken!
Having spent nearly 50 years at No 1, cobbles stalwart Ken makes good on his promise to sell up and move into a fancy retirement complex with his fancy woman Claudia. But when the fight between Tracy and Peter to keep the house in the family turns nasty, Ken faces an impossible dilemma…
“It was never Ken’s intention to put his children in direct competition with one another, but knowing him, he probably hasn’t stopped to take their feelings into consideration!” chuckles our Corrie insider. “You can’t really blame Ken for wanting a fresh start, but after Peter and Tracy start kicking off, the more peaceful option might be to stay put in Weatherfield!”
Ever the opportunist, Tracy hopes to bag a bargain by offering her dad £15,000 under the asking price. Peter is furious that Ken would even consider letting her take advantage of him, and retaliates by making a counter-bid in line with the full market value. However, the smug grin is soon wiped from Peter’s chops when Tracy fires back – insisting that she and Steve will match his sum!
“Tracy is quick to start measuring up – convinced that Peter doesn’t really have the money,” shares our source.
“As it turns out, Carla’s not keen on buying No 1 anyway – so they agree it’s not worth fighting over.”
However, when Peter calls in to see Ken to retract his offer, Tracy revels in winding him up, and succeeds – prompting narked Peter to change his mind. The pair are forced to
