Peggy’s love triangle came to a head when Frank ended up in bed with his ex in Spain. Frank planned to leave Peggy and flee with Pat to Manchester, but they got cold feet. When Peggy discovered their betrayal, she read Frank’s ‘goodbye’ note out to the crowd in the Vic, before administering slaps aplenty to the guilty pair! Pauline breathed her last at Christmas 2006, after a longstanding feud with daughter-in-law Sonia. Angry that Martin’s wife had ditched him for a woman, Pauline grew hateful towards Sonia. Before they could reconcile, Pauline collapsed and died in the middle of the Square, having been whacked with a frying pan wielded by husband Joe Macer. Sonia was arrested for Pauline’s murder, but later acquitted. Mousey lawyer Stella Crawford wasn’t Phil’s usual type, but she seemed nice… except when she was alone with his son, Ben. Stella tortured the 10-year-old, initially verbally, but soon the abuse turned physical. Oblivious Phil planned to marry Stella, but the truth came out on their wedding day – and the wicked woman jumped off a roof to her death. We welcomed back the Jacksons in 2008, as Bianca returned with four kids in tow – Tiffany, Liam, Whitney and Morgan. We discovered that 15-year-old Whitney had been groomed by Bianca’s boyfriend, Tony, who’d been having sex with her since she was 12.
