Adam tells Gary Maria cheated

Hot on the heels of his ex Sarah’s marriage, Gary tells Maria this week that they should set a date for their own nuptials.
However, just as the pair excitedly look to the future, Adam knocks the wind out of Gary’s sails – by revealing all to Maria’s furious fiancée about the afternoon delight she shared with doctor Ali on Valentine’s Day!
“The ink has barely had time to dry on Adam and Sarah’s wedding certificate when he takes pleasure in revealing the scandalous truth of Maria’s fling,” frowns our cobbles source. “Seeing Sarah go ahead and marry Adam has to sting for Gary, who secretly probably still holds a torch for her deep down. So after Gary commits to Maria, and then learns that she has been unfaithful, it is doubly hurtful.”
Maria regretted her reunion with Ali once it transpired that Gary had secretly been planning to propose, and has since told the disheartened doc to keep his distance.
But when Adam realises something could be going on between the pair, he makes it his mission to get the truth out of Ali.
“Adam tricks Ali into telling all, and assures him that his secret is safe,” reveals our spy. “Yet that couldn’t be further from the truth, as he delights in informing Gary what his wife-to-be was up to on Valentine’s Day.”
The irony of Gary’s situation is that he’s turned over a new leaf and, prior to learning about Maria and Ali, rejects an offer to join forces with his old debt-collecting buddy Sharon when they bump into one another.
Meanwhile, Maria waits for Gary in the Rovers to toast their engagement as he hunts down Ryan, demanding to know if anything is going on between Maria and Ali. Ryan insists that Adam is telling a pack of lies, before finding Ali and warning him that he’s just saved his skin.
However, when Gary eventually joins oblivious and tipsy Maria in the pub, he is quietly seething – and later puts in a call to Sharon offering her loan shark Rick Neelan’s old client list in return for a favour. What sort of awful revenge is Gary cooking up for Ali and Maria?
