DEAD WRONG?

KEITH DUFFY IS AMONG THE STARS SOLVING A MURDER…

-

CELEBRITY MURDER MYSTERY | Channel 5 FRIDAY

Now, Inside TV loves a ‘whodunnit?’, and we also love celebrities – so, understandably, we are all over this new two-parter, in which six stars find themselves in the middle of an Agatha Christie-style plot. Keith Duffy, Su Pollard, Angela Rippon, Sheila Ferguson, John Sergeant and Richard Coles will be thrown into a 1920s-style murder-mystery and will do their best to catch the culprit. However, will their sleuthing skills be up to the task? We chatted to Keith to find out…

Hi, Keith! This show sounds like lots of fun, how was it for you?

To be honest with you, I didn’t know what to expect going into the show, but we had a fantastic week of filming it, all together. It was non-stop from the time we arrived – from the costumes to the locations, to the actors that were involved – the whole thing was great fun. There was nothing negative I could say about it!

Did you have a specific role that you had to play in the show?

We were told to play ourselves, but at the same time we were given roles to play, so we kind of went in and out. I was playing valet to John, and we got on very well. Both of us allowed each other to commit to our characters – he treated me like a valet when he needed to, and I permitted him to do that. Then we came out of character, and the two of us became great friends!

Who would you say among you took it the most seriously?

Oh, Angela – she got into it in a huge way! Of course, we all wanted to figure out who the murderer was, but at the same time, you have to remember the reality of what the show can actually pull off. We’d talk through each scenario, but Angela was coming out with outrageous suggestions. If somebody had lost a tissue on the floor of the manor, that would potentially be a huge clue for her, and I would be saying, “Angela, somebody’s just dropped a piece of paper, babe – you’re taking everything too literally!” She’s a wonderful lady and it was a great experience working with her, but there were times I had to say, “Come on, think about it for a second: we’re not really going to get murdered this weekend, it’s a family entertainment show. Keep it together!”
