Liam steps up his campaign of revenge this week, when he organises a ‘Devil’s Dinner Party’. But exactly what flavour of mischief is he cooking up?
The guests of honour – Mercedes, James, Maxine and Grace – are summoned to the Dog by Liam, who quickly takes control and, shockingly, turns on his own sister!
“Grace is genuinely scared – she’s never seen Liam like this,” confesses Tamara Wall, who plays her. “He’s totally lost it! Then Liam tells Mercedes to shoot Grace, as he blames Grace for Jesse’s death. He says to Mercedes, ‘She shot you, so why don’t you do it?’”
Since the tragic death of his younger brother earlier this month, Liam has been spiralling further out of control. And his lust for revenge on everyone who has wronged him is growing by the day…
“I think Grace has an inkling that Liam is going to blow,” explains Tamara. “Liam’s getting really weird, he’s clearly losing his mind, so she’s a bit wary. At some point Grace knows he’s going to explode – it’s just a case of who he’s going to explode at.”
With Liam growing more unstable by the day, he drives to Hollyoaks High and kidnaps John Paul! Then, he convinces Sylver that Grace is in trouble – however, it’s all just part of his elaborate plan.
“It’s all so dark and twisted,” laughs Tamara. “Liam’s set it all up like a dinner party, with candelabras, wine glasses and fruit on the table – it looks amazing. Grace, Mercedes are there, plus Maxine – but no one quite knows why. Maxine just sits there and cries through the whole thing – so we keep asking, ‘What is she doing here?’”
When his dinner guests are seated, Liam begins to reveal everyone’s secrets.
Plus, with John Paul and Sylver still missing, will Liam use them as leverage to force everyone to start fessing up?
“Liam goes around the table telling everyone all the things they’ve done,” shares Tamara. “And he finishes off by saying that James and Grace shot Mercedes – then the whole thing unravels before your eyes!”
So, with Mercedes finally learning the true culprit of her shooting, will she take revenge on her nemesis, Grace?
“Liam’s attempting to play Grace off everyone else,” says Tamara. “So he says to Mercedes, ‘You shoot her and I’ll let the rest of you go’. He’s basically trying to force someone to murder Grace, so they can all survive. It’s a really horrible situation.”
With all hell breaking loose in the village, Tamara tells us that filming these scenes took its toll on the cast…
“We filmed it over a few days days,” begins Tamara. “So all of us spent most of the time crying – it’s super-emotional. We came home feeling really sad for no reason. But it was cool – the way that Jude [Monk Mcgowan, aka Liam] plays it is something you’ve not seen yet – he’s like the Joker!”
