THEY SEEM SET TO MAKE A HUGE DECISION…
Mick and Linda Carter have been serving the pints behind the bar of the Vic for over six years, but are they set to leave the pub behind this week?
It certainly seems the case, if current rumours appearing in the press are to be believed. Might it be the only way for Mick to help his alcoholic wife beat her battle with the booze and get her life back on track?
“We’ve all seen Linda slide into alcoholism over the past few months,” our Walford mole reminds us. “And even though she swore blind she’d go cold turkey following her near-death experience in the Thames boat disaster in February, the reality is – it’s not that straightforward. Linda really does want to quit, but how can she do that when she’s surrounded by booze 24/7? Mick knows they simply can’t carry on like this.”
The landlord realises that his wife is still a long way from achieving her goals after she pleads with him to return to work. While he’s keen for her to get back into a normal routine, he’s horrified when his mum

“On the plus side, at least Linda is over the ‘denial’ stage, which is a step forward from where she was a while back,” frowns our spy. “She now realises she has a problem, and she knows she’ll need a lot of help from her loved ones. And as she admits to Mick how vulnerable she’s feeling, he suggests action that is going to completely transform their lives…”
So, it seems the Carters might be destined to move out of the Vic. If so, will it help Linda to beat the demon drink?
