Mick & Linda’s exit plan exposed

THEIR FAMILY AND PUNTERS WON’T BE HAPPY…

It’s set be last orders at the bar for Mick and Linda this week, as the Queen Vic’s host and hostess, seeking a fresh start, prepare to serve their final pint.

The pair’s secret plan doesn’t take long to hit a stumbling block, however, as they receive a disappoint­ing valuation from their estate agent – and realising how knocked for six Mick is, Linda is mortified…

“This drastic decision proves just how determined Mick is to help Linda in her battle with alcoholism,” sighs our Walford spy. “He’s been a dedicated landlord all these years – but as much as he loves the Vic, he loves his family more. While Linda’s health and wellbeing is definitely his utmost priority right now, however, that doesn’t mean the prospect of losing the pub won’t be painful for them both…”

In the hope of relieving her husband’s heartache, Linda talks things through with Sharon, before suggesting to Mick that she doesn’t work behind the bar any more. But the pair of them are given further food for thought after an altercatio­n with drunken Billy – when Mick is pushed to reveal to him that they’re selling up.

“Sozzled Billy is a chilling reminder that Linda can’t keep on the straight and narrow when she’s surrounded by bottles of booze and bevvied punters,” explains our sneak. “Linda reckons she can steer clear of the bar – but how can she when the family home is right above it? Mick is aware

Shirley and Tina. Unfortunat­ely, though, secrets are impossible to keep on Albert Square – and sooner than Mick and Linda hoped, Tina and Shirley are in the picture. But will the pair pledge to support the plan, or devise an alternativ­e option?
