Stuart pops the question – again!
...BUT WILL SHE BAT OFF STUART’S PROPOSAL?
Stuart is inspired to propose to Rainie again this week, and arranges an elaborately dark proposal – but will she say yes?
His decision to pop the question for a second time comes after a conversation with his brother Callum, which leads Stuart to seize the day and make amends for his previous attempt. However, given that Rainie has already said no to becoming Mrs Highway once before, will she have changed her mind? Or is Stuart in for another huge disappointment?
“He surprises Rainie with a very outlandish approach to a proposal,” chuckles
Tanya Franks, who plays Walford’s Rainie. “It’s really insane. It’s a fabulously fun proposal, however it does get out of hand as far as Rainie is concerned, so Stuart’s rather on the back foot after that.”
They may have seemed an odd couple initially, but Stuart and Rainie’s relationship has been the making of them both – with the former addicts understanding one another, and even finding a common purpose in, of all things, running an undertakers! Given how perfect they are for each other, we were surprised that Rainie turned down his first proposal – but Tanya knows why…

worthy of,” shares Tanya. “She can’t quite get her head around the fact that, actually, there’s someone who genuinely is looking out for her. I know it was funny last time with her smacking the ring out of Stuart’s hand and crawling around the floor looking for it, yet I actually found it very moving because of how Rainie feels.”
Stuart’s obviously hoping for a better outcome this time, so as Rainie takes in his proposal, will she agree to be the Bride of Dracula – or will it be a case of fangs, but no fangs?
