Oblivious Vinny meets his dad

BUT THE LAD HAS NO IDEA ABOUT PAUL’S TRUE IDENTITY…

- Sarah Ellis

Vinny makes friends with Alex this week, little realising that his new colleague at the scrapyard is really Paul, his long-lost father.

Paul rocked up in the village last week looking for his boy, and his ex-partner Mandy told him in no uncertain terms to “do one”. But while Mandy thinks Paul has gone for good, he’s actually doing everything he can to get closer to his son…

“Vinny was just four when Paul left, so he can’t remember anything about him,” explains Reece Dinsdale, who plays newcomer Paul. “He turns up, calling himself by a different name, and bags a job at the scrapyard working alongside Vinny and Aaron. Paul’s been warned off by Mandy, but he’s a good man and means well – so he decides on taking the softly, softly approach.”

It’s when Paul goes to the scrapyard looking for an engine part that he and Vinny strike up a rapport, and Aaron enlists the two of them to hand out leaflets together. From Vinny’s point of view, he doesn’t have many mates and it’s nice to meet someone who he gets along so well with. Yet he has no idea that his new friend has an ulterior motive…

When Vinny returns home and excitedly tells Mandy all about the cool new friend he’s made at work, her nose is put severely out of joint!

“Mandy gets really jealous, because Vinny is constantly on his phone texting this Alex guy,” shares Lisa Riley, aka Mandy, as she takes up the story. “She feels threatened by him, however, never once does Mandy think that Paul hasn’t listened to her – she truly believes he’s gone.

She’s just put out that

Vinny thinks this Alex is more fun than she is!”

But Mandy will be in for a huge shock once she finally works out what her sneaky ex is up to.

Given that Paul and Vinny are now getting along like a house on fire, will Mandy have any hope in hell of keeping Paul away from his son? Or will she have no choice but to let him back into their lives?

Mandy gets jealous and feels threatened by Paul…”
