SALLY & TIM GO TO WAR!

Snoops behind the big Corrie lifts the lid on the stories it has already filmed – and those still to come… summer headlines...

-

Inside Soap is pleased to report that the drama in Weatherfield will be hotter than ever in the coming weeks – and there’s even a wedding on the horizon to look forward to!

Here is what Coronation Street head honcho Iain Macleod had to tell us when we joined him for a tantalising virtual press conference…

The battle between Yasmeen and Geoff is set to divide the residents of Coronation Street – with Sally and Tim on opposite sides of the debate! While Tim hopes justice will be served in the wake of Yasmeen’s attack on his father, Sally will argue that it’s actually Yasmeen who is a victim of abuse…

“I think it is fair to say that Sally has never been Geoff’s biggest fan, and she is among the first to have seen what goes on behind closed doors,” shares Iain. “This provides huge material for her and Tim, as he’s very much Team Geoff, whereas Sally becomes Team Yasmeen. There is a lot of tension in the coming weeks, as they have polar opposite views of what went on.”

As for poor Yasmeen – who is currently facing a lengthy stretch in prison for attempted murder after stabbing

Geoff in self-defence – there is a long and extremely difficult journey ahead.

“It’s not as if she wakes up and realises that Geoff has been abusing her for two years,” explains Iain. “It’s a slow road for Yasmeen to accept what she has been through, and we’ll see her wrestling with what she has done, as her loved ones try to lead her out of the darkness…”

Meanwhile, will evil Geoff also begin to see things in a different light?

“It felt right that we look back at Geoff’s previous relationships in some detail and see that he has done this before, as tends to be the case in real life – there will be lots of interesting explanations of Geoff’s backstory,” says Ian. “This will obviously entail the backstory of Tim, who is very well-beloved of our audience, so we’ll find out a bit more about him.”

With Yasmeen looking at a hefty jail sentence, we wonder if she’ll follow in
