Yasmeen prepares to stand trial for Geoff’s attempted murder this week. However, she tragically never makes it to the courtroom, after suffering a heart attack in prison! “Broken Yasmeen has been under extraordinary strain these past few months,” points out our Weatherfield insider. “The pure hell of what she’s been through finally pushes her body to breaking point, and she collapses in the visitors’ room just as a crucial development occurs in the case for her defence…” Yasmeen’s loved ones are still fighting hard to prove her innocence when her health suddenly deteriorates. Despite Geoff’s seemingly generous offer to drop the charges against her, the authorities are continuing to pursue the case. But Geoff is on a mission to win Yasmeen round regardless – so he takes to the airwaves of his hospital radio station, forgiving his wife live on air in nauseating fashion, while insisting he wants to help her. Meanwhile, Yasmeen gets news in prison that someone from a women’s charity is due to pay her a visit. However, it turns out that there is more to this mystery lady than meets the eye, and Yasmeen is shocked by her reasons for coming to see her. “Meeting with this woman is a massive turning point for Yasmeen,” reveals our source. “She leaves the conversation feeling stunned, and then Yasmeen’s cellmate Lucy hands her a book about coercive control. Is it possible that the scales are finally beginning to fall from Yasmeen’s eyes concerning Geoff’s true nature?” Sadly, it would appear that’s not the case, as Yasmeen calls Geoff and tells him that she’s made her decision – and does indeed want to be his wife
again! However, is this what she really feels? As trial day arrives, Imran visits Yasmeen in order to talk through her case – and is shocked when Yasmeen tells him that she has received knowledge of Geoff abusing women before. Although just as Imran prepares to jump straight on the new lead, Yasmeen slumps lifelessly to the floor and goes into cardiac arrest! Back on the cobbles, Geoff and Tim are preparing to leave for court when Ryan clocks a woman spying on them from afar – and viewers will see that it’s the very same lady who visited Yasmeen earlier in the week! Just what is her connection to the whole sorry saga? And will poor Yasmeen live to tell her side of the story?
