Inside Soap readers can sail along the Danube in the company of some of the world’s most inspiring writers, in associatio­n with the Henley Festival of Literature & Arts

We’re thrilled to announce our first Literary Festival on Water. Departing in April 2021, this unique eight-day Danube cruise will lead you on an unforgetta­ble voyage along one of Europe’s great rivers. Sailing in style on an Emerald Waterways Star-ship, you’ll enjoy talks, interviews and Q&A sessions on board with famous and inspiring writers and more. Created in partnershi­p with the Henley Literary Festival, this holiday promises the chance to enjoy fantastic food, wine and views as you explore Europe’s great cities, while rubbing shoulders with some of our favourite personalit­ies from the world of books.

Who you’ll meet DAME JENNI MURRAY

Much-loved broadcaste­r Jenni Murray has presented BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour for more than 30 years. She is also the author of several books, including A History Of Britain In 21 Women.

JEREMY PAXMAN

The award-winning journalist, author and broadcaste­r was the anchorman of BBC’S Newsnight for 25 years and has hosted University Challenge since 1994. His books A Life In Questions. include the memoir

LOUIS DE BERNIÈRES

Louis has written numerous internatio­nally acclaimed novels. His best-known work, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, won the Commonweal­th Writers’ Prize for Best Novel and was adapted into a film.

VICTORIA HISLOP

Victoria’s novel has sold more than 5m copies. Her books have been translated into more than 30 languages, and she’s drawn to Greece and the Aegean, where many of her novels are set.

The Island KATE ADIE

The former correspond­ent presents BBC Radio 4’s From Our Own Correspond­ent and has written several books, including a memoir of her extraordin­ary life, The Kindness Of Strangers.

LIZ EARLE

Liz is the bestsellin­g author of more than 35 books, as well as being a leading wellness entreprene­ur, TV presenter, podcast host, charity founder and organic farmer.

GABY HUDDART GH’S

editor-in-chief, Gaby Huddart, will host a drinks reception and gala dinner, interview special guests and give her insight into how Britain’s biggest-selling lifestyle magazine is created.

During this wonderful voyage along the Danube, you’ll have time to discover two capitals: Vienna, famous for its art, culture and culinary specialiti­es (including delicious patisserie­s), and Budapest, known for its magnificen­t architectu­re, such as the Hungarian Parliament Building and Buda Castle. Along the way, there’ll be more to enjoy, including guided walks and other excursions, plus the chance to discover Passau and Linz, the 900-year-old Melk Abbey and Unesco-listed Wachau Valley.
