Johnny Connor finally faces the music this week, as he and Scott at last sit down to talk about their secret past. The Rovers landlord has done everything he can to avoid this moment, including letting wife Jenny return from holiday alone and run the pub without him. But it’s become nightmarishly clear to Johnny that Scott is sticking around till he faces him, and the time has come to talk. So, as they come together for a proper chat for the first time in decades, Scott is ready to have his say. “The showdown will reveal the truth about what happened in 1980 – Johnny and Scott committed a shocking crime together!” whispers our Corrie insider. “The details of what happened are alarming, and it paints Johnny in a whole new light. He’s spent years putting his life back together, and is now a pillar of the community, whereas Scott is still dodgy. It’s going to be very difficult for Johnny to shake him off.” Johnny has every right to be frightened of Scott, who is in possession of his darkest secret. While Johnny was away, Scott showed his nasty side to Peter, by revealing that he was the one who attacked the pair who were trying to extort money from Carla. Since then, Peter has been wary, although Johnny and Jenny don’t yet know what Scott did – nor that he’s a dangerous individual! “After their chat, Johnny wants Scott gone, but Jenny invites him to stay for dinner

Johnny can only sit there on the edge of his nerves, and pray that Scott has mercy.” Given how long he’s waited to confront Johnny, it’s hard to believe that Scott will go without doing something to get his own back – it’s obvious that he enjoys turning the screw on his old pal. The question is, can Johnny convince Scott to leave the past in the past, or is what happened all those years ago about to shape their futures?
