Liv does a deal with the devil, as she makes a pact with evil Paul?
AFTER A SHOCK SEIZURE, SHE AND PAUL AGREE TO KEEP EACH OTHER’S SECRETS…
Liv finds herself tempted to do the unthinkable this week – by entering into a pact of silence with abusive Paul Ashdale.
With Mandy still distraught about Vinny’s decision not to move into their family home, Paul is desperate to put the family back together and sees Liv as the major obstacle. He rightly assumes that she’s counselling Vinny to stay away, so heads over to catch her home alone and vulnerable. But as he locks the door and threatens the horrified teen, Liv collapses and suffers an epileptic fit.
“Liv is the thorn in Paul’s side – he says it’s only ever gone wrong since she came along!” says Reece Dinsdale, who plays the Dales villain. “Paul knows she’s a smart cookie, and that she’s been in Vinny’s ear about him. So, Paul turns up at the cottage, locks the door and tells Liv, ‘We’re going to have a talk…’”
Trapped in a confined space with Paul, poor Liv is terrified about what he might do – particularly as she’s seen the scars he’s left on Vinny. He’s done a lot of terrible things so far, though would Paul really physically attack Liv?
“We’ve already seen him use his fists on Vinny, so we don’t know what this man is capable of and where it might lead,” muses Reece. “Mandy’s never been hit by Paul, so we doubt he’s ever hit a woman. It could just be a warning. But before you find out if he would, Liv has an epileptic fit in front of Paul, which is very shocking and, luckily, he saves the day.”
This is the second time Liv has had a fit, and the whole experience is terrifying for her. She’s undoubtedly grateful that Paul was there to help her in her hour of need, but given the context of his visit, the whole experience shakes Liv.

For Paul, however, it looks as though this might just work in his favour, because he and Liv now both have something that they want to keep quiet. He doesn’t want her to reveal his gambling and violence, and she doesn’t want anyone to know she’s had another fit. Will she keep his secret if Paul agrees to stay silent on what’s happened to her? One thing’s for sure, Paul will do what it takes to protect himself.
“Paul’s manipulation shows just how far this guy will go in order to protect his own backside,” says Reece. “You don’t know where you are with him at any one time. He can be charming and nice one minute – and mean it – but the next second, it all goes out of the window again. It’s pretty desperate stuff!”
