YULE CAN DO IT!

JAMIE OLIVER GUIDES US THROUGH THIS OUT-OF-THE-ORDINARY FESTIVE SEASON IN HIS NEW TWO-PARTER…

- Lynn Gibson

The Olivers throw open the doors to their Essex gaff in this new special, so we can join them as they prepare for their family Christmas celebrations – and Jamie will be sharing his handy hints on throwing a bespoke Crimbo to suit the current climate.

The chef has plenty of suggestions for fabulous festive foods to gift to friends and family, including a roasted mulledwine ham, accompanied by cheeses you can deliver ready to be baked by those we might miss spending Christmas with this year. And as Jamie reveals, he’s ready to embrace this unusual Yule…

“Bring it on!” he grins. “I’ve got loads of recipes up my sleeve to suit everyone, whether you’re cooking for fewer guests than usual, or if you want to rustle up some edible gifts to share with others. I’m seeing this year as an opportunity to try something new on the food front.”

As for the big day itself, Jamie will steer us through planning ahead – in spite of the fact that none of us is yet entirely sure of the number of people we’re allowed to cook for. So, whether you’ve ordered just a turkey crown or the whole bird, Jamie demonstrates how to rustle up a seriously tasty sage, onion and apricot stuffing that can be popped in the oven at the same time as your meat, or easily saved for another day, plus a super-easy chestnut gravy to accompany it. Also, Jamie’s (many) children will be creating a sensational seasonal yule log for their grandparents. Bless!

“Yeah, from a golden turkey crown and stuffed legs to ideas on loving your leftovers, and an epic chocolate yule log, there’s plenty to get excited about,” enthuses Jamie. “And while we might not be able to all sit around the table together, we’re certainly in need of a celebration, so let’s embrace this festive season and keep cooking!”
