Edward on the rampage: will he stop Diane learning the truth?
IS DIANE IN DANGER AS HE RACES TO STOP HER FROM REVEALING THE TRUTH?
“There’s no coming back from what happens…”
Edward is forced to take drastic action to stop his secrets from tumbling out this week – by viciously attacking Diane!
The dastardly doc has been plotting against his son Tony, trying to remove him from the picture so he can have Diane to himself. But after Verity tells Diane the truth about her father, Edward must act fast to stop Diane in her tracks…
“Edward shows his true colours – I don’t think anyone sees it coming!” reveals Alex Fletcher, who plays Diane. “It’s really extreme and horrible – there’s no coming back from what happens. It’s quite final.”
Although Edward has succeeded in driving a wedge between Tony and Diane, it’s clear that the former couple still love each other very much. So, in order to make their split final, Edward enlists Kurt’s help to set Tony up on a date with another woman. But when Diane finds out, she’s raging with jealousy!
“Diane is absolutely livid!” confirms Alex. “She tries to make out she’s not bothered, yet there she is banging on the caravan door! Kurt winds her up and says, ‘If the caravan’s a-rocking, don’t go knocking!’, and she’s like, ‘WHAT?’ She practically rips the door off!
“When she does eventually confront Tony, she’s upset that he wasn’t going to tell her he’d moved on,” she continues. “But he can’t work out why she’s so concerned if she doesn’t love him any more. He’s like, ‘Are you for real? You’re cracking on with my dad!’”
Meanwhile, Verity has long since known that her father is using underhand tactics to claim Diane for himself. She’s so far kept his secrets – but when he goes on to accuse
her of being responsible for her mother’s death, Verity is furious – and she swears her revenge…
“Edward is basically trying to morph Diane into his ex-wife, with the red hair and all that,” Alex tells us. “And that’s what completely freaks Verity out. She’s seen exactly what her dad is doing!”
As a recent Hollyoaks trailer revealed, Diane is on her way to tell Tony everything, when Edward whacks her over the head with his briefcase! The next thing we see is the doc telling his son that Diane is dead – so has Edward taken Diane out of the picture permanently?
