Kush snatches his son Arthur!
WILL HE FLEE THE COUNTRY WITH THEIR SON?
The Slater family faces a race against time to track down missing Kush this week, as fears mount that he’s bought himself and young Arthur two one-way tickets out of Walford!
After agreeing to take the rap for Kat and Phil’s car heist, Kush was preparing to do time in prison – until an opportunity to start a new life abroad proves too tempting to resist. But will Kush really go so far as to rob Arthur’s mum, Stacey, of her little boy forever?
“This is Kush we’re talking about, and he’s a good guy, so in her head Stacey is trying not to worry,” reasons actress Lacey Turner, who plays her. “She also has Martin telling her that it’ll all be fine, too. However, after Kush has been gone a while, it’s very worrying. Stacey and Kat are frantic.”
As time passes with still no word from Kush, Stacey takes her worries out on love rival, Ruby, who is still stewing over Martin’s renewed closeness with his ex over Christmas. Martin does his best to diffuse the tension between the pair, although when Arthur answers one of his mum’s many concerned phone calls and reveals that he and Daddy are due to board a plane, Stacey’s worst fears are confirmed.
“Stacey’s petrified, as she knows that Kush wants to avoid prison, and could have some help in trying to take Arthur out of the country,” explains Lacey. “Her whole world freezes in that moment.”
Before Stacey has time to react, Kush snatches the phone from Arthur and warns her that if she contacts the police, she’ll never see their son again. What is she going to do?
“At first Stacey is more shocked than anything, as it’s very out of character for Kush – though of course he hasn’t been himself lately,” sighs Lacey. “He’s been gambling and lying, so who knows what he’s capable of right now? Stacey would never forgive him if he took Arthur away, and she and Kat suspect the worst immediately – whereas it takes Martin a bit longer to come to terms with what his best friend might have done. It’s tough on them all.”
Meanwhile, Kush knows his actions are those of a desperate man – so he makes a call. Can the person on the other end figure a way out of Kush’s predicament – one that doesn’t involve abducting Arthur?
Or is there no turning back?
“Who knows what Kush is capable of right now?”
