Mercedes faces old enemy Silas!

Mercedes stares into the eyes of serial killer Silas this week – but will he finally claim his ultimate prize and rid the world of the McQueen madam?
Silas has been tormenting Mercedes and her family, threatening them via a sinister doll, and making their lives hell. But while the rest of the McQueens have paid the price, Mercedes is the one who Silas really wants. So, is the murderer about to bump off his next victim?
“The moment Mercedes comes face to face with Silas is really chilling,” shivers Jennifer Metcalfe, who plays her. “She’s suspected for a while that Silas is the one who’s been stalking them, as she knows he hates her and wants her dead. So when she finds out it’s definitely him, she’s not that shocked.
“There’s always high drama when Mercedes and Silas face off,” she adds. “Jeff Rawle [who plays Silas] really gets into character. Even from two metres apart, it was intense!” Viewers are now aware that Silas’ accomplice is his grandson Seth Costello – who is Theresa’s secret boyfriend! The lovebirds have been working together to extort money from the McQueens, but while they think that they’re getting away with it,
Mercy is convinced the family has a mole in its midst.
“Mercedes sets a trap to find out who it is,” reveals Jen. “She tells each person in the family that she’s having an affair, and gives them all a different name so that she can find out which one gets back to the blackmailer. It’s very sneaky.”
Whether Theresa falls for her cousin’s ruse remains to be seen. But there are more shocks to come when Sylver goes to collect Bobby from the airport, only to find that he’s gone missing!
“When Bobby’s not there, Sylver assumes that Mercedes must have picked him up,” Jen tells us. “So there’s sheer panic once they realise that he’s disappeared. It’s one thing for someone to go missing from the village, but for a young boy to disappear on a flight from Alicante is very worrying indeed. They’re really panicked!”
“Mercedes knows that Silas wants her dead!”
Mercedes’ blood runs cold after she calls her son’s phone – only for Silas to answer! Given that Silas is Bobby’s great-grandfather, Mercedes realises that the killer has every reason to want to snatch the boy.
So, when he instructs Mercedes to meet him in the Folly, she doesn’t hesitate.
And as the old enemies face-off once more, Silas issues Mercedes with a chilling ultimatum…
