JP warned about George…

DEAN TRIES TO WARN JOHN PAUL ABOUT HIS BOYFRIEND…

- Sarah Ellis

George’s ex Dean rocks up in the village again this week – but can he make John Paul see that his boyfriend is a violent bully?

Viewers are slowly starting to see George’s true colours, and now realise that the hot cop isn’t quite the catch John Paul believes he is. But as the pair return home from a romantic break, is JP about to have his eyes opened to his boyfriend’s true nature?

“John Paul is very loved-up, he doesn’t understand he’s being abused and manipulated,” explains James Sutton, who plays him. “He thinks all is great between him and George. John Paul’s in too deep – we’re exploring the nuances of falling in love with someone who is very bad for you.”

George’s post-holiday glow quickly evaporates, though, after he finds out that he’s facing an internal conduct review at work. Worse still, it turns out that Nancy was the one who filed the complaint, leaving John Paul in a very tricky predicament…

“Nancy has reported George to the authorities, so he gets removed from being the school’s liaison officer,” reveals James. “John Paul finds out that Nancy was the one who grassed him up, which puts him in a tough position, as Nancy is his best friend, and George is his partner. It’s very messy, and he fears how George will react.

“He knows that George has a very short fuse and can get angry, although at this point, he doesn’t realise the extent of it,” he adds. “But there are some scenes in this week’s episodes that will be quite shocking for the audience.”

Things go from bad to worse for George when his ex Dean turns up, which doesn’t go down well with John Paul! Yet as George insists to his current beau that his former love is a bad egg, will JP believe him?

“George tries to convince John Paul – and anyone else who will listen – that Dean was an abusive partner,” James

tells us. “He reckons he’s really dangerous, and that he almost ruined George’s life. John Paul is quite aggressive towards Dean, and doesn’t want him around, which leads to some interesting chats…”

As the week comes to a close, George shocks John Paul by asking him to move in with him! So what will John Paul say in response?

“John Paul is a little bit apprehensive, because he has a son to consider,” James reminds us. “He doesn’t think that it’s a good idea, and kind of falls into George’s trap by saying that. George doesn’t really expect John Paul to move in with him, it’s just more of his manipulation…”
