Marlon organises a romantic day out for him and Rhona this week, and while their plans fall through, he has something else up his sleeve – when he finds a novel way to declare his love!
After realising their romantic feelings are mutual, Rhona and Marlon decide to try to get each other out of the friendzone. So Rhona is over the moon when Marlon suggests that they go out on an afternoon tea date in Hotten – but their plans are unfortunately scuppered!
“Marlon’s worried he’s blown his chances with Rhona before they’ve really begun,” explains our Emmerdale insider. “The afternoon tea might not be going ahead, but Marlon’s determined not to let the possibility of a reunion slip through the net. And rightfully so; he knows that Rhona likes him too, so Marlon is prepared to give it one last try before he gives up completely – and he wants to pull something unique out of the bag.”
Marlon decides not to reschedule the afternoon tea date, and takes a different approach. In an attempt to recreate some nostalgia, Marlon dresses up as Stan Laurel, a nod to the black and white movie nights that he and Rhona used to share when they were together before. So, clad in his outfit, Marlon heads out to meet Rhona… “It’s a bold move, but Marlon is hopeful that his quirky idea will impress Rhona,” says our source. “Rhona’s never had a gesture like it, so she’s pretty shocked by what he’s wearing. It’s not the most romantic thing in the world, but the thought behind it is. Whether this will push Rhona to make a move herself is another thing entirely – it’s a big decision for them to make considering

Marlon tries his best to impress Rhona with his special fancy-dress effort, and is hoping to charm her. But with so much history with between the pair of them, and a string of bad lovers in between, will it be the right decision for them to turn to romance? Or will the former couple call it quits before their blossoming relationship goes any further?
