We caught up with new screen parents Amy and Jurell…

Hello, Amy! How were the birth scenes to film?

Amy Well, I thought I’d have all of Christmas to prepare for it, but then the production team said they would be doing them before instead. So I was thrown right in, and I couldn’t overthink it. I spoke to all my friends and my sisters, and I sent text messages the night before asking for tips. I got one back saying, “Imagine being hit by a bus, then beaten up by a professional boxer, then rolled down a concrete hill, and you’re just about there!”

Jurell, what about you? Did you get a father’s perspective from anyone? Jurell I spoke to Jeff Hordley [Cain], and he went into detail of his experience of births. Also, one of my nephews has a child, so I asked him about his first hold of the baby, and he was like, “Bro, I couldn’t even tell you, but it’s such a proud feeling”. Amy and I watched

We hear that for the moment you don’t have a real baby playing Frankie… Amy I’m gutted we can’t have a real one as

I love a newborn – we’re using dolls and fake jelly babies. It’d be way too risky to have a newborn on set, so I’m glad we are being safe. I have loved playing pregnant, and everyone said it really suited me. I’m going to miss my bump – when you’re doing a full day of filming, it’s hard, but it warmed me up in the cold!

Jurell, do you think this week will see a big change in Nate and Cain’s relationship?

Jurell I do – I think it’s an opportunity for Cain to have a second chance. He does feel so guilty for not being there for Nate, even though he had no choice. He can be a dad to Nate and also be a grandad to the baby, and give Nate the support he needs. I think it’s a great starting point to go from.

That said, however, a lot of fans have said they’ve spotted a spark between Tracy and Cain… Amy I love working with Jeff, and I love the dynamic of those two characters. Those scenes they had, I don’t know about a spark, but I think they really worked, and I’d like to see more Cain and Tracy together. But who knows? Tracy would probably like a bad boy – she doesn’t know what’s good for her, so we’ll see!

So, you’d like to see Nate and Tracy happy now? Jurell It’d be amazing to see them be happy together. Amy I’d like them to be happy, and I think the fans crave that. But I love the crying, so I probably don’t want them to be too happy!
