Simon puts Sam in deadly danger

THE LAD’S DODGY NEW DRUGS JOB HAS SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES…

- Sarah Ellis

Simon’s involvement with Jacob’s drugs gang inadvertently puts Sam at risk this week! Can Simon track down the youngster before any harm comes to him?

After Simon ditches Sam to help Jacob with a job, the boy follows him, and witnesses a truly horrific scene. And when Simon leaves his bag behind,

Sam helpfully picks it up. Little does Sam realise that he’s now in possession of a whole load of illegal drugs!

“Things go very wrong, which leaves Simon extremely worried,” reveals Alex Bain, who plays him. “Simon hasn’t done anything as serious or as dangerous as this. He wants to try to show some bravado, and pretend that he knows what he is doing…” Simon’s been through a tough time since his brother Oliver’s death, and with mum Leanne still off work, he’s desperate to do all he can to put food on the table. And although he knows that selling drugs is illegal and could get him into big trouble, Simon feels he has no other option – especially when Jacob throws in a fancy phone as a perk! “Simon sees Jacob as somebody who actually cares,” Alex tells us. “He listens to Si’s problems, and is someone who Simon can talk to about anything. But Jacob sees Simon’s vulnerability, and thinks he can use it to get Simon to do all these jobs for him. Si ends up transporting drugs all over the place.”

But Jacob doesn’t stop at deliveries – he also suggests that Simon should sample his own wares! The schoolboy is reluctant at first, yet Toyah later sees Simon and Jacob smoking weed in Victoria Gardens, leaving her concerned…

Later in the week, just as Simon has agreed to take Sam on a bike ride, Jacob pulls up in his car and orders Simon to jump in, as they have an urgent

job to do. He wants Simon to help him teach a lad a lesson – which involves attacking him and shoving him in the boot of a car!

“When Simon’s under pressure, he tends to get himself into big trouble,” sighs Alex. “He doesn’t realise what he’s getting himself into. Simon’s never really had friends before, and Jacob’s gang fills that void. He does know how dangerous it is, but he just wants to have some friends that he feels close to.”

However, after Sam witnesses Simon and Jacob’s assault, he’s left shaken, and takes off on his bike – clutching Simon’s abandoned bag. And when Simon realises that Sam has his drugs delivery, he’s horrified. Is Sam in grave danger?
