Secretive Isaac tries to woo Lola

We’re set to uncover the mystery of what Isaac and Sheree have been hiding this week – but will Isaac let it stop him from dating Lola?
After Kim plays matchmaker, Isaac and Lola go on a date, and later make plans to meet up again. However, Sheree is furious when she spots them together, and tries to put a stop to their relationship…
“Sheree continually interferes in Isaac’s business, especially his love life,” explains Stevie Basaula, who plays him. “Isaac reaches a point where he’s had enough – and he lets his mum know! He really likes Lola, and he trusts that he can be himself with her.”
When Kim initially suggests setting up Isaac on a blind date, he’s a bit hesitant. Yet when Lola arrives, he’s pleasantly surprised. And things get off to a pretty good start – until a misunderstanding ends up leaving Isaac upset.
“Isaac and Lola have shared a moment in the past,” Stevie reminds us. “So he feels more relaxed knowing they have a history. But there’s a bit of a mix-up – he accuses Kim of intervening because she thinks that Isaac is incapable of doing it himself. He assumes she’s having a bit of a laugh behind his back, but he then goes on to find out that it wasn’t true, so has to apologise!”
It seems a new romance could be on the horizon – till Sheree sticks her nose in, that is! The overprotective mum plots to scupper her son’s next date, then tries to make Isaac see that he’s not ready for a relationship. And once that fails, she warns Lola to stay

away from her son! But how will Isaac react when he finds out what she’s done?
“He’s angry and frustrated by that point,” reveals Stevie. “He’s warned Sheree before and told her to back off, but the fact she’s gone behind his back to scare off Lola leaves him upset. He doesn’t understand why she won’t allow him to make his own decisions – he’s capable of looking after himself. The world has moved on from how Sheree might feel about things.”
Isaac is devastated when Lola refuses to return any of his calls as a result of his mum’s interference. Later, he confronts Sheree and makes it clear he’s ready to tell people the truth…
“Isaac’s at a stage where he’s feeling lonely, especially after lockdown,” says Stevie. “There’s only so much fun you can have with people you’re not interested in getting serious with. He’s in a space now where he’s settled – he’s found a job and likes where he’s living. He’s ready for something more.”
We’ve previously seen Sheree and Isaac discussing his “health issues”, and it’s clear that Sheree is worried about how people will react if her son reveals the truth. So what exactly is it that Isaac has been hiding? And will he follow his heart and tell all to Lola?
