Ian’s worst nightmare!

-

helped himself to a shiny new £26,000 Saab. But can we blame Deirdre for failing to spot the warning signs? The pilot business, for instance, or the way Jon refuses to be photographed with her at a Sunliners party? Alas, it seems that true love is indeed blind – even when it’s wearing glasses bigger than a Didsbury bay window.

LOVE IS THE AIR

Things are relatively quiet back on Coronation Street. Ashley and Maxine agree to move in together – though friends and viewers remain sceptical – while Ken pockets a cool £50 working for Alec

as an escort for mature ladies. This leaves Jack

fancying a piece of the action. But what will Vera

have to say about that?

They say that lightning doesn’t strike twice. One person who would certainly beg to differ is Ian Beale; who, having once lost his beloved Cindy to the subtle seductions of Simon Wicks, now learns that he’s about to lose her all over again to Simon’s more wicked brother David. (You can’t say that Cindy doesn’t have a type.) Ian goes completely to pieces – especially when he discovers that Cindy has already packed the children’s suitcases

– though his wife flatly denies any involvement with David. As Ian becomes even more clingy, Cindy starts to contemplate an even more brutal – not to say bloody – separation.
