My Telly HEAVEN!
As 10 Years Younger In 10 Days – with jaw-dropping makeovers and advice on how to roll back the years – returns, presenter Cherry Healey unveils her favourite shows…
What’s the best thing about working on 10 Years Younger…?
Cheesy as it sounds, it’s magical to watch people who’ve given their heart and soul to others their entire lives – nurses, carers, police officers – transform in front of you, both inside and out.
What have you been most enjoying watching recently?
I love sci-fi, so we’re currently working our way through Battlestar Galactica on BBC iPlayer – it’s fantastic! I slightly pre-judged it, but a friend convinced me to give it a try and now I’m hooked!
What about comedy shows?
I loved Katherine Ryan’s The Duchess
on Netflix – I related to so many moments in it! I also loved Dave,
although had to warn my mum not to watch it, as it gets pretty out-there…
What were some of your favourite shows growing up? The Raccoons – evil Cyril Sneer still gives me fear! I also loved ThunderCats and Danger Mouse.
What programmes do you like to unwind in front of? My go-to show to relax is Friends – which my daughter is now into, so I’m starting that from the beginning! I also like The Graham Norton Show, First Dates, Gogglebox and Catchphrase.
What did you last binge-watch? We watched Unorthodox on Netflix so quickly it didn’t touch the sides!
Is there a particular presenter who’s always inspired you?
I love Sarah Beeny – she has four children, several businesses and still seems to have some balance in her life. She’s energetic and likes to get things done – traits that I share! – so she inspires me to keep grabbing at life every day.
Are there any of your previous jobs you’d like to do again? Making the [BBC3] documentary Cherry Has A Baby was a special experience, so I’d love to make something that had the same heart as that – just maybe without the stretch marks!
If you could choose to be in any other show, what would it be? Catchphrase! We play it at home and we can get quite competitive…
