Fay returns to Erinsborough

Matt Wilson talks about Aaron’s family situation…

- Alice Penwill

It’s a busy time for Aaron who, with his husband David, has gone back to fostering while also expecting a baby with Nicolette. But there’s even more on his plate this week, as Aaron’s mum Fay returns to Erinsborough. Neighbours star Matt Wilson (Aaron) gives us the goss…

Aaron and David have taken in troublemaker Brent – do they regret their decision?

No, they want to see it through, and they both want to help him. Given the upbringing that Brent’s had, and the fact he’s starting school at a new place, it’s hard for him – but Aaron won’t give up!

Is Aaron excited to see Fay when she arrives?

Of course, although Aaron is also worried. He notices that Fay’s condition [Huntington’s disease] has really deteriorated since the previous time he saw her…

What’s it like working with Zoe Bertram (aka Fay)?

She’s amazing! Zoe’s the most kindhearted, gentle human I’ve ever met. I remember one time I was in a scene with Zoe and Colette Mann [Sheila], and we both forgot our lines as Zoe was so believable when she layered her performance with some of the symptoms of Huntington’s.

Aaron and David are on the road to becoming dads – are you hopeful their parenting situation works out? Everybody wants it to work – however, in the real world, it’s a risky scenario. Having a baby with someone who you’ve only just met could be a disaster waiting to happen…

You and your wife Jessica recently announced your own new arrival! Do you reckon having a baby at home will help with having a baby on set when the time comes?

I’m not sure – to be honest, I try to switch off as soon as I get into the car to drive home. Sometimes I can’t remember any of my lines, or anything to do with work at all!
