Paul kills to keep his secret?
VINNY AND LIV ARE BOTH IN DEADLY DANGER…
Desperate Paul proves he’s willing to go to any lengths to keep his gambling and his abuse of son Vinny hidden from bride Mandy this week – but would he go as far as killing someone to shut them up?
Groom Paul is so close to getting his happy ending when Liv discovers the shocking truth – that Paul has been subjecting his son to violent and horrific attacks in order to keep him quiet about his gambling relapse. But now that Liv is in possession of this explosive information, will she tell Mandy – or can Paul silence her before she ruins his life?
“Liv has been the thorn in Paul’s side ever since she started her relationship with Vinny,” explains Reece Dinsdale, who plays gambling addict Paul. “She always thought there was something suspect about him, and now she’s on his trail. Paul is running around like a firefighter, trying to put out fires everywhere to make sure his big day goes swimmingly. He’s so deluded – he thinks his life will be hunky-dory once he and Mandy say ‘I do’…”
On the eve of the big day, Paul thinks his only worry is what he’s going to say in his wedding speech – but he’s about to get a very big pre-wedding surprise! When Aaron asks Paul to meet him at the Dingle
house, Paul assumes there’s some kind of lovely gift waiting for him there. So imagine his utter horror as he arrives to find out that Aaron has kidnapped Connor, and tied him up in the Dingles’ living room!
“Paul fears the worst, as Connor knows all his dirty secrets!” Reece reminds us. “At this point, Aaron knows nothing about Paul being a bad lad – he and Liv both think Connor is responsible for beating up Vinny. So Paul wonders what the hell to do!
“He has to think on his feet, so Paul says that he needs to be the one to sort out Connor, as it was his son who was beaten up,” continues the actor. “Aaron tells him that the Dingles sort things together, as a family, but Paul insists that he’s a proper dad who sorts things himself.
He and Connor collude to free him – seeing Connor escape from the Dingles’ house!”
While Paul feeds the family some lame excuse about why he let Connor get away, it’s clear none of them buy it. Yet when Liv later runs into Connor on the outskirts of the village, something he says makes the penny drop – and she finally realises exactly what Paul has been up to…
“It’s a major red flag for Liv after Paul lets Connor go,” reveals Isobel Steele (Liv), as she takes up the story. “It makes her want to investigate. So when Liv sees Connor, she asks why he put Vinny in hospital – but Connor says he didn’t, and it was Paul who faked his own kidnap. She’s shocked and confused, and it begs the question: if Paul can lie about his kidnap, then what else is he capable of?”
Scared for Vinny, Liv confides in Aaron, and the two make it their mission to get Vinny to tell Mandy the truth. But as the wedding day dawns, Paul is determined to stop his son from blabbing.
“They’re suited and booted on the morning of the wedding, and Paul’s wired,” shares Reece. “He’s counting down, as he thinks life will be great once the wedding is over. He asks Vinny to give him his best man speech, but as soon as Vinny opens his mouth, Paul says, ‘Stop, I don’t like it’!
“Paul gets so angry, and Vinny is the only one he can take it out on,” he adds. “He gets Vinny on the floor and stands on his stomach – and Vinny’s already got internal injuries from the previous beating. You can see that the pain is just awful.”
Later, Liv tracks down Paul to the wedding venue, and confronts him with what she knows. But as it dawns on Paul that his big day is about to be ripped apart by this girl, just how much danger is Liv in?
“Liv acts on impulse and doesn’t intend to put herself in danger,” shares Isobel. “As they talk, Liv notices she’s pushing Paul’s buttons, and thinks that’s her route to evidence. There’s no stopping her, she just wants to help Vinny. It’s very selfless – I’m not sure I would do the same!”
By the end of the week, one villager will be dead – so is Liv set to pay the ultimate price for trying to keep Vinny safe?
