VERNON KAY HOSTS A BRAND-NEW TALENT SHOW, AND HE TELLS US THAT YOU WON’T BELIEVE YOUR EYES…

- Tom Spilsbury

Over the past seven decades, ITV has established a proud tradition of Saturday night talent shows – from Opportunity Knocks in the 1950s, all the way through to Britain’s Got Talent and The Masked Singer today. And this week, the channel launches a brand-new format, with a genuinely unique twist – and it promises to be the most dazzling yet…

“You just can’t beat shiny floor, big-scale entertainment!” grins Game Of Talents’ excited host, Vernon Kay. “I love the idea that families all over the country will be gathering around the TV on a Saturday night.”

Vernon is no stranger to Saturday nights, of course, having been the long-time host of ITV’s All Star Family Fortunes from 2006 to 2015. But Game Of Talents promises something different from anything we’ve seen before…

“It’s a combination of a game show and a talent show,” he explains.

“A celebrity and a member of the public team up to form a double act, and two teams face off. A performer then comes through our big double doors, and the teams must guess which talent they are going to perform. It’s a really fun guessing game, with big money at stake!”

A huge part of the fun comes from the fact that when each mystery performer takes to the stage, you’ll have no idea if they’ll turn out to be an opera singer, a weightlifter, a fire-eater… or something else entirely! But one thing is certain: they all possess an incredible skill.

“They’re absolutely unbelievable,” promises Vernon. “Every last one of them is spectacular. I can’t tell you precisely what they’re going to be doing – but we have a bit of everything and anything! The audience will be shouting, ‘What?!’ at the screen – they won’t believe what they’re seeing. Prepare to be shocked and amazed in equal measure!”
