Mick stuns the his punters this week, by revealing that Frankie is his daughter – however, it’s not the only shock on the cards for the Carter clan. Just as he makes his announcement, in walks Mick’s other daughter, Nancy. But how will the two sisters get along?
Mick’s been keeping the truth about Frankie a closely guarded secret, unable to deal with the questions that people will ask about her parentage. However, as Frankie struggles on her birthday, Mick wants to do whatever he can to lift her spirits. And it’s at a lively party in her honour that Mick finds the words to tell the world that Frankie is his child…
“It’s a spontaneous decision – Mick is inspired, so he just goes for it,” explains our Albert Square insider. “It’s a massive moment for Frankie and the rest of the Carter family.”
Mick knows that Frankie is having a difficult time after he finds a letter from Katy that Frankie has binned. It’s a birthday card with a cheque for £2,000, which Frankie sees as a bribe from her mum. Mick’s worried about how tough this is on his daughter, and wants to give her a lovely birthday. So, the Carters rally round to throw her a party in the Vic.
At the do, Frankie catches the eye of newbie Zack as he enjoys a drink with half-sister Sharon. When people ask who Zack is, Sharon doesn’t hesitate to reveal their family connection, and Mick feels inspired. Soon, he plucks up the courage to do the same thing by publicly declaring that Frankie is his daughter.
“Sharon’s just so matter of fact about Zack, Mick realises a lot of people won’t give a monkeys about the whys and wherefores of their relationship,” shares our spy. “He just goes for it without really thinking twice. It’s a brave move, and one Frankie appreciates.”

But who walks in just as Mick makes his announcement? His other daughter Nancy, back from her travels! What exactly will she make of the joyful family scene?
“Mick and Linda told all their children recently about Frankie, so her existence won’t be a surprise,” says our sneak. “But your dad toasting his new daughter in front of your friends in your old home must bring on some twinge of jealousy!”
As the girls are introduced to one another, Mick couldn’t be happier to see his daughters together. However, with Frankie already feeling insecure over her place in the family, will the two girls be able to bond?
