Poorly Kim’s shock collapse!

IS THERE SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH HER?

- Kate White

There’s a new nightmare for village superbitch Kim Tate this week, after she collapses at Home Farm – and isn’t found until the next day!

It turns out that Kim has been in pain for weeks, and has been numbing her agony by knocking back brandy. However, after Lydia discovers her boss in a terrible state, she begs Kim to see a doctor. Will the terrified woman agree?

“Kim’s adamant that she will not see a doctor because she’s scared of what they might tell her,” confides Claire King, who plays her. “She’s been worried about her health, and that something isn’t right. She’s very tired, very emotional and very ill.”

The tension has been building at Home Farm as Jamie finalises details of his divorce from Andrea. When he announces that he’s given her Dale View cottage as part of their settlement, Kim’s furious, and she sends Gabby packing too. But all the stress has a profound effect on her physical health…

After Kim orders Gabby to pack her bags and leave, she loses her balance and falls. She’s found the next morning by Lydia, who has arrived to clean the house.

“Kim’s been spark-out all night until Lydia finds her,” says Claire. “She refuses to see a doctor, but has some suspicions over what the problem could be, due to

her health in the past and her family history. Kim’s terrified and starts googling symptoms on her laptop, but Gabby comes in and finds the computer. That’s when Kim feels pressured to tell both her and Lydia what her fears are.”

It looks as though the villager everyone loves to hate could be facing her biggest challenge ever. For Claire, it’s an exciting time as her alter ego is back at the centre of the drama.

“It’s a really good one!” she teases. “There are lots of twists and turns along the way! It’s not all that it seems, but Kim changes quite a bit. She’s not this strong tornado of a woman who controls everything. She starts making mistakes, and when people have a go at her, she doesn’t have the usual comebacks. We’re certainly going to see a different side to Kim!”
