Traumatised Faye goes in front of the judge to discover her fate this week – but will she be heading to jail? It seems unlikely the terrified teen will get just a slap on the wrist for bludgeoning Adam Barlow and almost killing him, even though she never intended him any harm – as she mistakenly thought he was sexual predator Ray Crosby.
With Ray refusing to plead guilty for assaulting her, Faye’s defence is left shaky. So, how will she cope if she’s sent down?
“Faye’s scared and nervous, but she knows this day has been coming,” explains Ellie Leach, who plays her. “She didn’t expect to just get away with what she did, though she doesn’t know what’s going to happen next. Faye still can’t really believe that all of this has happened.”
The youngster’s boyfriend Craig has been trying hard to support her through this desperate time, but he knows that being with a convicted criminal could have severe implications for his career. So, once Faye hears that Craig has decided to resign from the force, she’s horrified…
“Faye doesn’t want Craig to ruin his life for her, so she tells him that they should call it a day,” shares Ellie. “If she goes to prison and he keeps in contact with her, then he could lose his job, and she’s not prepared for that to happen. Faye’s doing her best to see the bigger picture, but Craig is consumed by the moment.”
It’s not just Craig’s life that poor Faye is desperately worried about destroying – she fears for her brother’s too.
“The person she’s most worried about is Gary because he’s in prison for her, and that’s what’s playing on her mind the most,” shares Ellie. “She expected that he’d be released when she confessed to the police, but he wasn’t.
So, she has no idea what’ll happen to either of them.”
Shock waves reverberate around the court when Gary is handed an eight-month jail sentence for perverting the course of justice. But due to the time he’s already served, Gary is told he’s free to go. As the judge moves on to Faye, everyone holds their breath. Is she heading for a long stint at Her Majesty’s Pleasure?
