BRAIN POWERS!

CHASERS JENNY RYAN AND ISSA SCHULTZ ARE GRILLED BY INSIDE TV AS THE CLASH OF THE TITANS RETURNS…

- Allison Jones

With five new shows – hosted by Bradley Walsh – spanning across the week, all six Chasers form a united (and intimidating) front against brave quiz contenders as Beat The Chasers returns. Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett, Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace, Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha and Darragh Ennis aka ‘The Menace’ are joined by The Chase Australia’s Issa ‘The Supernerd’ Schultz, covering for Anne Hegerty after she tested positive for Covid as filming began. Issa and Jenny tell us more…

Hello, both – and welcome, Issa!

Issa I still can’t quite believe I’m here! I’ve been hoping to join the UK team for years, especially as I’m a Brit born in Cornwall. Jenny Issa just slots right in, we’ve loved working with him. I think the people at home will love him too… Issa Everyone’s been very supportive, including Anne, who I know well as I work with her and Mark on The Chase Australia. Apologies to the others, Anne is my favourite!

How does Beat The Chasers compare to The Chase’s regular show for you?

Jenny It feels more relaxed as all six of the Chasers are sharing out duties – my favourite thing is getting to work together, as we rarely all get to be in the same room.

Are there any big shocks in store?

Jenny We always have drama – some people take the right offer and win big, some people just miss out. Lots of things come down to the last second – and sometimes the Chasers make mistakes, naming no names!

The Chasers must know all of their respective areas of expertise well…

Jenny We’ve got into that rhythm of knowing what the others know more than you – for example, what Shaun doesn’t know about dates of kings and queens isn’t worth knowing! Issa And Jenny is the Queen of pop culture, Mark is great on US sport – the UK Chasers are very team-orientated, and I immediately felt part of the family!
