“Scott Maslen [Jack] is the funniest on set. His character is serious, but when they shout ‘cut’, Scott morphs into something else, he’s like the Joker! He has so much energy and doesn’t stop, even first thing in the morning. Scott is like a shot of caffeine, he warms you up for the day!”

“Natalie Cassidy [Sonia] is extremely astute and one of the most sensible people. She doesn’t miss a thing about details and continuity in a scene, she is a stellar actor. She and I both went to the same theatre school when we were kids, Anna Scher. Nat grew up in the business and learnt from legends like Wendy Richard [Pauline], and now she’s a legend herself. A young legend!”

“Diane Parish [Denise] is the best person to confide in. I love that woman, she is like a sister to me in real life. In the show Denise is the straight one and Kim is all over the place, but in real life we give each other advice and I might be the grown-up one – I know that’s hard to believe!”

“Charlie Brooks [Janine] is the person I’d love more scenes with. I love how Kim calls her ‘Janice’ and she never corrects her! That stemmed from me having a friend called Tracy. My mum called her Sharon, and Tracy was too polite to put her straight, so she answered to it for years!”
