Mad for Midsomer

IT’S LIVE SEMI-FINALS TIME ON BGT – AND THE JUDGES’ FAVOURITES CAN’T WAIT TO GET BACK ON STAGE…

- Allison Jones

Before tuning in for this brand-new episode, there’s a chance to head back in time through Midsomer’s murderous history, as a special documentary celebrates a quartercentury of the much-loved rural crime drama.

Residents of the fictional picturesque English county have been popping their clogs in crazy fashion since 1997, in episodes that have featured an array of famous faces over 23 series. And apparently, Caitlin and DS Winter also share a past?

They went out when they were at university and it’s left a mark on them both. There are questions over how it ended and whether they’re over one another. Did she cheat? Whether or not she was unfaithful, DS Winter seems quite torn up over it… There’s a spark between them.

Do you think Nick would make a good detective in real life?

I feel like sometimes he thinks he’s a good detective now… He’s fairly observant, quite factual, very fact-based, so he would probably make a good detective!

Would you choose to live in Midsomer?

Well, there’s a lot of murder going on there and some strange ways of doing it – so you’d need to keep your wits about you… But it’s a beautiful place to live and Jamie Winter is there, so that’s a bonus!
