‘Typical’ KM reader – a partridge-eating boating enthusiast!

The typical Kent Messenger reader has a strong love for roast partridge and blackberry pie.

That is the claim of market research company YouGov, which released a web app this week looking at what brands people like.

It profiles the “quintessential, rather than the average” member of a particular group, but looks at what someone is more or less likely to do or buy.

To produce a profile of a KM reader, it surveyed 785 people and found you had a fondness for gardening and the arts and crafts.

Sailing or rowing down the river score highly as possible pursuits, as does cricket.

Following a leisurely pursuit down the River Medway, our readers would then relax in front of a Carry On film, particularly the 1962 classic Carry On Cruising, or listen to popular 1970s and 1980s rock band Boston.

Alternatively, an evening watching ITV News followed by The One Show and EastEnders would be an ideal ritual.

Talented, loving and imaginative are words used to describe yourselves, but some accept they can tend towards big-headed, uptight and intolerant.

A favourite paper is likely to be The Sun or the Daily Mail as you lean a little to right of the political spectrum, and the least favourite are The Guardian and The Mirror.

George at Asda, Dr Martens and Wallis are popular clothing brands, which will be bought with money from your Nationwide bank account.

You are likely to get your food from Sainsbury’s and take it home in a Citroen or Skoda, but the shop you are least likely to visit is Morrisons.

A lot of the six to 10 hours you spend online will be spent checking KentOnline or the websites of Kent County Council, Southeastern and journeycheck.com.

If you venture on to Facebook, giving Bluewater or Red Arrows a like is a must, and your favourite mobile apps will be the Tubemap, Groupon and Texas Hold ’Em.

On Twitter many of you follow James May and political journalist Kevin Maguire – who happens to work for The Mirror.
