A mother-of-two shed more than three stone in four months and gained a new job in the process.

Lindsey Disley, of Buckland Hill, Maidstone, went from a size 20 to a 12 after swapping fad diets for a healthy lifestyle and is now running a weight-loss group in Kings Hill to show others it can be done.

The 32-year-old has struggled with her shape since she was bullied at school and work.

Mrs Disley said: “A group of girls who I thought were my friends would poke fun at me and make jokes at my expense. I felt really low back then.”

The 5ft 1ins former administrator turned to comfort food and would indulge in crisps, bread, pizza and chocolate.

Her size fluctuated over 14 years as she struggled with various diets, including Atkins, Slim Fast and a soup diet. Mrs Disley weighed 10st 7lbs at her wedding to husband Chris, 33, in 2011, but put on more than 3st while pregnant with son Dexter, now two, bringing her to 14st – her heaviest.

After giving birth in June 2012, Mrs Disley joined Slimming World and returned to her pre-maternity size within six months.

In March this year, Mrs Disley welcomed daughter Honor into the world. She gained the same amount as during her first pregnancy but lost 3st 2lbs in just over four months and is now one pound off her goal of 9st 7lbs.

Mrs Disley became a Slimming World leader three weeks ago and will be introducing a 7.30pm meeting to her weekly session when it moves to Kings Hill Community Centre, in Gibson Drive, in January.

She now meets 38 members every Wednesday at 5.30pm at the Discovery School, Discovery Drive, Kings Hill.
