What’s On reporter With roads closed off for the Remembrance Day service many drivers had to park wherever they could in order to attend.

I was horrified to see traffic wardens putting tickets on them even though they were causing no obstruction. Has the council got no shame? By contrast Southeastern trains kindly allowed free parking at Maidstone West station for the duration of the service. Jack Reed, via email increase. Is this bad budgeting? Especially as now we are the only G7 country to meet the UN’s recommended target in aid.

When you are in debt maybe you shouldn’t give away or spend more than you can afford. That is what the government tells benefit recipients.

As the government’s own Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) admits, much aid goes into the pockets of corrupt overseas politicians.

More shocking is the fact that Nigeria and India are second and third highest recipients of our aid. India’s economy is growing faster than ours and Nigeria has substantial oil. They need to take care of their poor.

This money could have been better spent by helping the NHS.
